Overview
As a part of the Microsoft licensing package most computer users are assigned, OneDrive provides secure cloud storage for us to save files to and then share them with others when appropriate.
OneDrive lives in the SharePoint Online environment. While the look and controls are not identical, essentially each person's OneDrive is a private SharePoint site.
Backup
Group Policy for our computers includes backing up several of key local file directories to OneDrive: My Documents & Desktop, for example. This grants you access to those files from any internet-connected device.
Accessing OneDrive
From a web browser: sign into portal.office.com (or dfwtg.okta.com & select the Office Portal link), then from the app launcher at the top left of the page, select OneDrive.
From your laptop or PC, select start, then search OneDrive. Select the OneDrive app. Authenticate, if prompted, and OneDrive will present as another drive or directory in File Explorer.
