How to Enable BYOD Mode on the Yealink A40 +
CTP25
This article provides step-by-step instructions for configuring the Yealink MeetingBar A40 and CTP25
touch console in BYOD mode. BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) mode allows users to connect their
laptop and use the A40 as a USB camera, microphone, and speaker for any conferencing application.
Requirements
Device Details
Yealink MeetingBar A40 Latest firmware recommended
Yealink CTP25 Touch Console Paired with A40 via network or direct link
Laptop With USB-C supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode
Cable USB-C to USB-C (or USB-C to HDMI + USB)
Network Both devices must be on the same LAN
Step-by-Step: Enable BYOD Mode
1. Access the A40’s web interface by typing its IP address in a browser.
2. Log in with admin credentials (default: admin / 0000).
3. Navigate to System → UC Provider.
4. Enable the BYOD Mode option and save your changes.
5. Connect the laptop to the CTP25 using a USB-C cable.
6. On the CTP25, tap 'Enter BYOD mode' when prompted.
7. The A40 will now act as the USB camera, microphone, and speaker for your laptop.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Ensure both devices are running the latest firmware.
- If the BYOD prompt does not appear, verify the A40 and CTP25 are properly paired.
- If audio/video does not pass through, try reconnecting the USB-C cable.
- BYOD may be disabled when the A40 is in Microsoft Teams native mode; toggle via UC Provider
settings if needed.
